Peter Lenz wraps up season with four wins

Oct 18, 2007, From a Press Release

Young young gun Peter Lenz was back at the racetrack this past weekend taking four wins as he wrapped up his 2007 race season at the Mac Track.

While he was sidelined for the past three months with a broken right arm Peter grew enough that his riding gear was tight in all the wrong places. With things being a little tight Peter wasn’t able to move around on the bike the way he would have liked, and his right hand was still not 100%, he still managed to ride within a second of his record setting pace set earlier this year, the competition didn’t slow down while Peter was out making for some tough races.

“The other riders really stepped up their game, now we are going to have to start pushing the limits,” explained Peter. “It was nice to get back on the bike and ride. My back and hand was sore from not riding, but I was happy to just do what I love, ride.”

As race seasons wrapped up across the US a shortage of 12" Bridgestone tires required Peter to run recycled tires. He ran the weekend on tires originally used in April.

Even with roached tires he took his Honda NSR50 to a solid win in Stock 50 and a hard fought second in Mod 50. In MiniGP50 he crashed and was pinned under his bike bringing out a red flag, after being checked out by the onsite medical staff he finished the in progress race. Even though he was off his normal pace and fighting tire slip all weekend he took his KTM 65 to wins in the 65, FX and 85 classes.

2008 will see Peter ride an RS125/85 in MiniGP and WERA West races and at this time next year rides on a 125 GP, he is currently looking for 2008 support.

Thank you to all the clubs that welcomed Peter as he traveled this year and to all the people and sponsors that provided help enabling Peter to be as successful as he was. Peter finishes the 2007 season with 4 national wins, 30 regional wins, and an additional 14 podiums.
